Christians and Muslims Talking Together

Respect Graduate School, Moravian Theological Seminary and Lehigh Dialogue Center mark 10 years of inter-religious dialogues. Candid and respectful presentations about our beliefs, practices, and opportunities for cooperation are leading participants to deeper understandings of one another and mutual efforts in our communities. The sessions are held at Respect Graduate School and Moravian Theological Seminary

THE FALL, 2017 PROGRAM

WOMEN IN ISLAM

Islam’s views about and roles for women are often misunderstood, even distorted. Each session provides a two-fold view intended to inform, clarify and start discussion on Islamic understandings that invite comparisons to today’s society and religious views.

Each Dialogue session opens with a presentation about a woman who is important in Muslim tradition. Roundtable discussions will follow on particular themes about the roles of women in Islam and even in other religious traditions.

Please note that the First Evening Dinner is an opportunity to meet to develop positive relationships. Presentations and Discussions begin in the next week.

All sessions are on Wednesdays and are scheduled to begin around 7:15-7:30 PM.
