Risale-i Nur in the Context of Islamic Theology

Islamic theology is sometimes thought of being a monolithic character, but in fact, it evolved through history. Different trends in Islamic theology have influenced Muslim scholars and schools. Bediuzzaman Said Nursi is a contemporary scholar whose ideas are a product of this evolution. In this 7 week online course, we will go through the Risale-i Nur, the compilation of Said Nursi’s writings, and investigate the background of his ideas, and we will explore his relationship with other schools, especially schools of thought and schools of mysticism.
