1. Definitions
“RGS”: Refers to Respect Graduate School.
“Donor”: The individual or entity making the donation.
“Recurring Donation”: A donation plan that is processed at regular intervals.
“Fund”: The program or budget category to which a donation is allocated (e.g., General Donation Fund, Zakat Fund).
2. Types of Donations
Donations may be made as (1) one-time donations or (2) recurring donations (for a fixed or indefinite period). All donations are non-refundable; however, in cases of error or unauthorized transactions, a review will be conducted, and a refund may be issued if deemed appropriate (see Article 8).
3. Payment and Security
RGS does not store credit card information; only tokens or transaction IDs provided by the payment processor are retained. All transactions are processed through authorized payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). For security reasons, the minimum amount for a one-time donation is USD 10.
4. Recurring Donation Plans
In fixed-term plans, transactions stop automatically at the end date. Ongoing plans continue until canceled. Donors may stop, cancel, or modify the amount/frequency of their plan at any time by contacting [email protected].
5. Notifications
Email reminders are sent 30 days and 7 days before the end of a recurring plan. Donors will also receive a notification when their card’s expiration date is approaching.
6. Failed Payments
In the event of a failed transaction, up to three automatic retry attempts will be made. Donors will be informed to assist in resolving the issue together.
7. Receipts and Tax Information
RGS is a registered nonprofit organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3) (EIN: 46-2122947). Donations from U.S. residents may be tax-deductible in accordance with applicable tax laws. In January, donors receive via email an annual summary and receipt for donations made in the previous calendar year.
Note: Donations made through non-automated methods (e.g., Zelle) are not included in automated receipt systems. Donors must contact [email protected] to ensure such donations are properly recorded and receipted.
8. Disputes and Refunds
In case of suspected erroneous or unauthorized transactions, please contact [email protected] within four weeks (28 days). After review, if the claim is found valid, the refund will be issued via the same payment channel used for the original transaction.
9. Fund and Campaign Allocation
All donations are directed toward the fund or campaign specified by the donor. For example, donations to the Zakat Fund are allocated exclusively for purposes consistent with Zakat policies and are never used for unrelated purposes.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
Personal data is processed solely for the purpose of executing donation transactions and fulfilling legal obligations. Data may only be shared with third parties when legally required or when necessary for service provision.
11. Communication Preferences
Donors may update their communication preferences or unsubscribe at any time by emailing [email protected].
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the applicable federal laws of the United States.
