RGS recognizes that in order for our students to reach their highest potential, both during their studies at RGS and after graduation, they should not be burdened with concerns about financial stability. This is why RGS makes financial aid available to students, primarily through merit-based scholarships, as well as grants and tuition waivers.
Every year the following scholarships will be made available through the generosity of dedicated donors to new full-time degree students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Islamic Studies Program (MAIS) beginning in the Fall Semester.
Upon review of all completed applications submitted before the August 1st deadline, the admissions committee will award the following scholarships based on the strength of each student’s application, with particular consideration to academic merit, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. The admission committee may require an interview and/or a GRE score in order to make a final decision. Applicants who already have a GRE score are encouraged to submit it along with their application. Students who are chosen to receive scholarships will be notified by email before the start of the Fall Semester.
Scholarship recipients must register for at least 9.0 credits per semester to be considered full-time status, as well as maintain a minimum 3.2 GPA score in order to continue to receive their scholarship.

GRANTS AND TUITION WAIVERS
Besides the above-mentioned scholarship, RGS may award applicants with a grant or a tuition waiver before any semester based on the student’s financial need and available funds.
Applicants for grants or tuition waiver should complete the Online Application Form for Tuition Waiver or Discount and include a personal statement of need explaining how this financial assistance is necessary to continue their education in Islamic Studies at RGS. Upon completion of the application, the applicant will receive an email stating the status of their application and the expected timeframe for a final decision. The admission committee may require an interview with the applicant and/or may request additional documentation in order to make a final decision. All grant monies are non-refundable.
