Borrowing at a Glance
Borrowing privileges are available to currently enrolled RGS students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, affiliates of other area colleges, and eligible non-affiliated community members.

Students currently enrolled for classes may borrow up to 20 items, including books, videos, and audio CDs, for a period of four weeks. Items may be renewed two times.
During the summer, students who have enrolled for the fall semester also have borrowing privileges. Borrowers must display a valid RGS ID card.
Faculty, staff, and administration may borrow an unlimited number of items for a period of four months. Items may be renewed twice. All borrowers must display a valid RGS ID card.
Alumni may apply for a free alumni library card. Alumni may borrow a total of 10 items for a period of three weeks, and items may be renewed once.
Students and faculty from Moravian University who are currently enrolled for classes may borrow up to five items for a period of four weeks. These items may be renewed once.
Both groups must display a current validated ID card from their home institution to obtain a Respect Library card and borrow materials. RGS students and faculty also have borrowing privileges at these institutions.
The following community members may obtain an outside borrower’s card at no charge:
Friends of Respect Library who are not otherwise eligible for a card may obtain an outside borrower’s card for an annual fee of $25.
Fines & Fees
All students, including RGS and non-RGS students, alumni, and paying patrons are subject to late fees for overdue materials.
Books, DVDs, CDs, and CD-ROMs are charged $1 per item for each week following the due date.
The maximum overdue fine is $8 per item.
Once an item is 60 days overdue, it is characterized as lost.
A $15 lost-item fee is added to the borrower’s library account.
The borrower is responsible for accrued overdue fines, the lost-item fee, and the replacement cost of the item.
Student borrowing privileges are suspended when the account balance reaches $80.

Gifts & Donations
Potential donors should provide a list of materials before sending a gift. Donors are responsible for delivery, and all materials are evaluated using the same standards applied when selecting new materials.
