Process Patterns: Digital Gravure Art Exhibit by Nik Nikolov

Opening Reception: 28 September 2017, 6-9pm at Respect Graduate School

Exhibition open Monday-Thursday, 9/28/17-11/16/17, 9-5pm

This event is free and open to the public.

Behind every seemingly random pattern found in nature is a process governed by logic. Nik Nikolov’s latest digitally engraved wood series explores such implicit patterns through an expanded field of vision works made by allowing computer-generated algorithms to play out on the surface of his wood canvas creating sweeping ornate arrangements that seamlessly blend into one-another. Nic’s elaborate CNC engravings draw creative inspiration from the generative and algorithmic art of Tara Donovan, as well as works of Andy Goldsworthy, Kazimir Malevich, the dada movement and the intricate contours of elevation maps.

The reception for Process Patterns will be held at Respect Graduate School on Thursday, September 28, from 6:00-9:00 pm. Admission to this exhibit is free and light refreshments will be served at the reception. This exhibit will also be open to the public every Monday through Thursday, 9-5pm from October 2, until November 16, 2017.
