The Respect Summer Qur’an Program is a two-week educational and spiritual journey designed to instill a love for the Qur’an in children’s hearts. Through Qur’an reading, tajweed, memorization, and character education — all delivered in a joyful, age-appropriate setting — the program nurtures both the mind and the soul.

Course Overview

The Respect Summer Qur’an Program is a joyful and spiritually enriching summer course designed for children to connect with the Qur’an in a meaningful and memorable way. Over two weeks, in small cohorts of 10–24 students, daily in-person sessions run for four hours, combining interactive Qur’an reading, tajweed, and memorization with PowerPoint-enhanced lessons, team projects, and fun quizzes via Kahoot to spark excitement and healthy competition. With expert teachers leading engaging course presentations, dedicated office hours for personalized support, and plenty of opportunities for student interaction, children will develop love and reverence for the Qur’an while forming positive habits and lifelong friendships rooted in Islamic values. Each day also features outdoor play, snack time, and captivating stories from the life of the Prophet ﷺ, creating a warm, nurturing environment that’s as fun and transformative as it is spiritually uplifting for both kids and parents alike.

Course Outcomes

Recite Qur’anic passages with improved fluency and correct tajweed.

Memorize selected short surahs and daily duas appropriate to their level.

Demonstrate a stronger spiritual connection to the Qur’an through understanding its moral teachings.

Exhibit positive character traits such as respect, gratitude, kindness, and cooperation.

Course Objective

The objective of the Respect Summer Qur’an Program is to cultivate in children a deep love and respect for the Qur’an by helping them develop foundational skills in Qur’an reading with correct pronunciation (tajweed); memorize selected short surahs and duas appropriate to their age and level; strengthen their spiritual identity through stories, practices, and values drawn from the Qur’an and our Beloved Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ life; experience the Qur’an as a source of joy, peace, and guidance through engaging lessons, play-based learning, and positive peer interaction.

Course Schedule

The Respect Summer Qur’an Program holds its lessons in person every Monday through Thursday from July 13 to July 23, 2026, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm (EST). All sessions take place at the Respect campus, located at 2200 Industrial Drive, Bethlehem, PA 18017, USA. The program consists of a variety of engaging modules delivered over 2 weeks by experienced instructors, and concludes with a memorable and joyful final day of celebration, reflection, and student presentations.

Focus Areas - Love for the Qur’an, Adab of Qur’an, Tajweed, Bismillah, Surah Al-Fatiha, short surahs, practice of tajweed, learning and practicing the recitation rules, akhlaq, kindness, honesty, and gratitude.

Focus Areas - Qur’an reading with tajweed, salat basics, du’as, respect for parents, etc.

About the Instructors

Ziynet Akca is an experienced educator specializing in Qur’anic studies, Arabic language, Tafsir, and Islamic jurisprudence. She graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Samsun in 2008 and completed advanced Islamic studies at the Istanbul Academy and Research Center. From 2009 to 2023, she taught Islamic sciences and Arabic to students at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, where she worked with learners of various age groups and academic levels. With over 16 years of professional teaching experience, Ziynet Akca has also participated in multiple certification programs focused on Islamic sciences, Arabic, and Qur’anic studies. She holds certificates in these fields and has conducted numerous seminars and workshops. For the past two years, she has been based in the United States, delivering both in-person and online Qur’an lessons to a diverse student body. Currently, she teaches at Enver Academy, continuing her mission to make classical Islamic knowledge accessible and engaging for modern learners.
Ustadha Ziynet Akca
Seyfullah Demirtas completed his formal education in Egypt and graduated in 2022. That same year, he was granted an Ijazah in Qur’anic recitation, authorizing him to teach the Qur’an with proper tajweed and transmission. Since obtaining his Ijazah, Seyfullah has been actively teaching the Qur’an to students through both in-person and online platforms. His teaching experience spans multiple countries, including Egypt, Cambodia, and the United States, allowing him to engage with diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds. With a passion for transmitting the beauty and precision of Qur’anic recitation, Seyfullah continues to inspire his students with sincerity, patience, and a deep love for the Qur’an.
